Industry Insider – Funding Opportunities with Arts Council England
28 April @ 14:00 - 15:00 BST
As the Covid-19 crisis continues, what support is available for authors and creative practitioners living and working in England? What type of work is covered by grants? How do you apply?
Sarah Crown, Director of Literature, will offer an overview of grant programmes and funding that writers, illustrators and literary translators can apply for from Arts Council England including National Lottery Project Grants and Developing Your Creative Practice. Sarah will share advice on how to apply and what to include in your application, what makes a successful project and how to get your idea off the ground.
There will be an open Q&A at the end of the presentation, so please come with your questions for Sarah.
This event is in conjunction with our Authors North group. Find out more here.

Financial support for authors in need through the health crisis and beyond
Since March 2020, the Authors’ Contingency Fund has distributed over £1 million in small grants to authors facing financial hardship due to COVID-19.
With at least 57% of authors facing financial losses during the pandemic, we have helped people struggling financially due to contractual, employment and event cancellations, others who have lost income due to illness, and others prevented from working because of caring responsibilities.
As the health crisis continues, applications for grants continue to come in, and our emergency funds are running low.
So, if you are in a position to help, please donate via the link below. If you are an author facing financial hardship, please click here to see if we can help.
