Copy of Writers of Essex: What Does Reality Bring to Fiction?

Join Writers of Essex for their next online meet-up on Saturday 5 March from 12pm and hear from Bryan Lightbody on his experience of writing reality into fiction. Details matter in fiction and non-fiction, so come along and pick up some research tips.

As a police officer and bodyguard, Bryan has had to constantly think on his feet and reassess his environment when escorting Her Majesty, The Queen in public and private. He carried a gun covertly in the UK and abroad to do so, travelled to the places he’s written about, and put that into print to help other writers with their research. Alongside a 35 year career, he continues as a close protection advisor, a tour guide, historian, and author. He is a self-confessed petrol head with interests involving high performance cars and bikes, and motorsport.

Bryan will speak for 30 minutes followed by a Q&A. After a comfort break, group members are invited to discuss general writing-related queries with each other.
