Cumbria & Lancaster Group: Self-publishing

Join the Cumbria & Lancaster Group on Thursday 18 May from 6.30pm for their next online meet-up. This month, group member Frank English will give a short talk on self-publishing followed by a discussion.

In self-publishing, there are many ways for an author to own the whole publishing process and be truly recognised for the quality of the books written. How does a prospective author who prefers to self-publish, rather than go down the traditional publishing route, go about writing and publishing their work to make sure that they’re happy with the quality of the finished book? What sort of competition is there to allow this to happen? How is self-publishing viewed today and should it be considered as a viable means of allowing a greater public to read our work?

Frank’s short talk will be followed by a group discussion to ask questions and discuss our experiences and approaches to self-publishing.
