PSWG @ Home: Feel Good Fridays – Poetry and Spoken Word Social
14 May @ 11:00 - 12:00 BST
Join us for an online social to meet and mingle with fellow poets from our Poetry & Spoken Word Group and our broader SoA membership.
You’ll be greeted by Nadia Bonini, SoA Membership Manager and Coordinator of the Poetry & Spoken Word Group, who will provide an update on the activities of the Group, share how you can get involved and answer any questions.
We will then split into small groups using breakout rooms on Zoom for you to meet your fellow poets, chat and make connections. We’ll run two rounds of breakout rooms for 25 minutes each so you can meet a variety of poets and spoken word artists.
This event is for SoA members only and is part of the PSWG @ Home, organised by the SoA’s Poetry & Spoken Word Group (PSWG) – a week-long celebration of poetry and spoken word.
5 minutes – Welcome and intro from Nadia Bonini, SoA Membership Manager and Coordinator of the Poetry & Spoken Word Group
50 minutes – Two rounds of breakout rooms (25 minutes each) for informal chats with fellow poets. Each group will be facilitated by an SoA member of staff
5 minutes – Nadia Bonini will close the session with a few words

Financial support for authors in need through the health crisis and beyond
Since March 2020, the Authors’ Contingency Fund has distributed over £1 million in small grants to authors facing financial hardship due to COVID-19.
With at least 57% of authors facing financial losses during the pandemic, we have helped people struggling financially due to contractual, employment and event cancellations, others who have lost income due to illness, and others prevented from working because of caring responsibilities.
As the health crisis continues, applications for grants continue to come in, and our emergency funds are running low.
So, if you are in a position to help, please donate via the link below. If you are an author facing financial hardship, please click here to see if we can help.
