Herefordshire Group: Marketing your book
9 August @ 14:00 - 15:00 BST
Join the Herefordshire Group on Tuesday 9 August from 2pm for their next online meet-up. This month we will be discussing marketing ideas. Margaret Iggulden will give a short talk on running a successful book launch and Ian Lewis will share how he produced an animated trailer for his new book.
Margaret Iggulden has written and co-authored many ELT course books and readers for Pearson, OUP and Macmillan from kindergarten to university, global and specific markets. Returning to her home county of Monmouthshire, after lecturing in Papua New Guinea, Kenya, Kuwait and Oxford, she rediscovered her passion for history and archaeology. The Wye Valley and many childhood haunts inspired a children’s eco-historical fantasy series, Spirals of Time, for 8-12 year olds.
Earlier this year she launched book 1, The Bronze Mirror, at Drybridge House, Monmouth, a few hundred yards from where stunning medieval tiles were discovered some years ago. Margaret will talk about the steps she took to organise this book launch and share advice for making your book launch a success.
Film-maker and writer Ian Lewis will show a video trailer he made for his recently-published children’s novel The Ballad of Billy Bean, and will talk briefly about how and why he made it. All questions welcome.
Ian has made many television documentaries, written and directed three feature films, and had six books published, including two recent children’s novels. He lives in rural Herefordshire and Vienna. His web site is www.storymachine.co.uk.
All welcome from the surrounding area!
