Hertfordshire Writers: Meet the Agent

Join Hertfordshire Writers on Tuesday 11 April from 7.30pm for a hybrid meet-up. This month, we will be joined by Christabel McKinley, literary agent at David Higham Associates, for an informal discussion about the author/agent relationship, submissions, and your chance to ask questions. Johanna Clarke, Publishing Contracts Advisor at the SoA, will host the Q&A session, so please do submit your questions in advance so we can cover as many possible.

Christabel began her career teaching English in South Korea, which was the springboard for her interest in children’s publishing. She now represents children’s authors and illustrators, from picture books to Young Adult fiction, including graphic novels and illustrated non-fiction. Find out more here.

Christabel and Johanna will be joining us for the first half an hour. The second half of the meeting will give us time for a group discussion following the Q&A.
