New member online meet-up

Join us for an informal online session to welcome new Society of Authors members.

You’ll be greeted by Joanne Harris, Chair of the Society of Authors, and Peter Kennedy, Head of Member Services, who will share how to make the most of your membership and a short introduction to how you can get involved with your union.

We’ll also be joined by Pallavi Vadhia and Jamie Macdonald from the Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society who will give a short overview of the organisation, how to take advantage of free ALCS membership and the benefits of joining. After their presentation, Pallavi and Jamie will be available in a breakout to answer any questions.

We will then split into small groups using breakout rooms on Zoom for you to meet your fellow members, chat and make connections. We’ll run two rounds of breakout rooms for around 20 minutes each so you can meet a variety of authors.

Programme

• 5 minutes – Welcome from Joanne Harris and Peter Kennedy
• 5 minutes – Introduction to ALCS from Pallavi Vadhia and Jamie Macdonald
• 40 minutes – breakout rooms for informal chats with fellow authors. Each group will be facilitated by a member of staff.
