North East Group: Political Writing with Chris Mullin
15 April @ 12:00 - 14:00 BST
Free
Join our North East Group on Saturday 15 April from 12pm for their next in person meet-up. This month we will be joined by journalist and former Labour MP, Chris Mullin.
Chris was for 23 years Labour MP for Sunderland South and did time as both a minister and as Chair of the Home Affairs Select Committee. His journalistic work was instrumental in securing the release of the Birmingham Six, falsely imprisoned for the IRA Birmingham pub bombings.
The SoA event coincides with the release of his latest political diaries, Didn’t You Used To Be Chris Mullin?. Also the author of four novels, his A Very British Coup was adapted for television by Alan Plater.
The interview will include a Q&A session, followed by lunch and networking. Attendance at this event is free, but you must register for a place below. Members will pay for their food and drink at the bar on the day.
We’ll meet at the Chart House, 63 Quayside, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 3DE.
