Join the North East Group on Saturday 15 July from 12pm for their next in person meet-up. This month, we will be joined by graphic artist Bryan Talbot and writer Mary M Talbot for a audio-visual presentation at Sunderland Museum.
Bryan Talbot is the creator of the graphic novel Alice in Sunderland. He’s also famed for The Adventures of Luther Arkwright, the Grandville series of books and, with his wife Mary, Dotter of Her Father’s Eyes, which won the 2012 Costa biography award. Over a 50-plus year career, Bryan has contributed to a vast range of titles, from Judge Dredd and 2000AD to The Sandman (in collaboration with Neil Gaiman). www.bryan-talbot.com
Bryan and Mary’s latest graphic novel is Armed with Madness: The Surreal Leonora Carrington, a celebration of the feminist and surrealist artist published by SelfMadeHero in May this year.
We’ll meet in the Learning Space at Sunderland Museum, Burdon Road, Sunderland, Tyne and Wear, SR1 1PP.
Please note: This is a rare opportunity to meet Bryan and Mary in person in the North East, so please book early as places are limited. Non-SoA members are welcome to attend as guests.
