Scottish Non-Fiction Group: The basics of copyright

Join our Scottish Non-Fiction Group on Thursday 8 July from 3pm when SoA member Ronald Turnbull will give a short talk on the basics of copyright.
Ronald, who is not a lawyer, will give a quick survey of copyright based on his 25 years as an author, the advice provided by the SoA and the Intellectual Property Office website, and will attempt to answer questions. He’ll cover
- What is copyright?
- Duration of copyright in 14 different circumstances
- 6 Exceptions to copyright (‘fair dealing’)
- Clearing permissions
Following Ronald’s talk, we’ll open out to a general discussion about our experiences. All non-fiction authors across Scotland welcome!
