Join us for a special SoA Awards Positive Poetry Party, hosted this year by 2016 TS Eliot Prize winner and current Eric Gregory Awards judge, poet Sarah Howe. Listen and watch live poetry readings from this year’s SoA Award poets – including the Cholmondeley and Eric Gregory winners as well as judges from both awards – and connect with other writers in a fun, safe and supportive environment.

This event is part of SoA Awards @ Home – ongoing celebrations for this year’s Society of Authors’ Awards. The event will take place online via Zoom and a link will be sent to registered attendees.

The Line-up
Sarah Howe – (Chair, Eric Gregory Judge)
Sarah Howe is a British poet, academic and editor. Her first book, Loop of Jade (Chatto & Windus, 2015), won the T.S. Eliot Prize and The Sunday Times / PFD Young Writer of the Year Award. Born in Hong Kong to an English father and Chinese mother, she moved to England as a child. Her pamphlet, A Certain Chinese Encyclopedia (Tall-lighthouse, 2009), won an Eric Gregory Award from the Society of Authors. She has performed her work at festivals internationally and on BBC Radio 3 and 4. She is a Lecturer in Poetry at King’s College London.

The SoA Poetry and Spoken Word Group (PSWG) is a professional community for poets and spoken word artists. We come together to discuss issues affecting poets and the spoken word community, offer advice and support, and raise the profile of poetry and performance.
The Group is run by an elected committee and a professional coordinator from the SoA.
