Join the SoA in Scotland on Zoom for the Proactive Writer with Barbara Henderson on Saturday 13 November.

Author Barbara Henderson leads a workshop and discussion about the importance of a proactive approach to writing, marketing and promotion – as well as sharing some top tips for establishing yourself as an author in a crowded market.

This event will be chaired by SoA in Scotland Committee member, Claire Watts.

Timing: 2.30-4pm

Programme

  • Presentation (30 min) with little thinking breaks throughout to consider how to apply some of the key ideas to your own work.
  • Focused breakout room discussions (20 min)
  • Coming back to the main room for a trouble-shooting chat at the end to feed back with new steps/things we are going to take forward, and brainstorming ideas for specific projects to demonstrate the process (20 min).

About Barbara Henderson

Inverness-based Barbara Henderson is the author of historical novels Fir for LuckPunchBlack WaterThe Siege of Caerlaverock and The Chessmen Thief as well as the eco-thriller Wilderness Wars. Her energetic school visits have taken her across Scotland and beyond – and as a Drama teacher, she loves to get young people on their feet!

Having waved her daughters off to university, Barbara now shares her home with one teenage son, one long-suffering husband and a scruffy Schnauzer called Merry.
