Society of Authors in Scotland committee information session

Call out to all SoA members in Scotland.

We have three vacancies opening up on the committee of Society of Authors in Scotland. Join us for an informal chat with some of the current committee on Tuesday 19 September at 7pm on Zoom to find out about what it means to serve on our supportive and friendly committee.

Perhaps you’re keen to help out with particular writers’ rights or other subjects around a writer’s life. Perhaps you’re simply interested in supporting other authors in Scotland. If you have time and energy to devote to the committee, we’d love to hear from you – and if you want to help but don’t know whether you have the skills, confidence or time, this is your chance to find out more. This will be the only Zoom event before the online election in October.

We’re keen to encourage applications from across the different voices of our wonderfully diverse nation.

Key dates:

• We will ask applicants to send us a headshot and a short paragraph about themselves by 14 October.
• Voting takes place online in October.
• New members join the committee at the Society of Authors in Scotland AGM on Saturday 18 November.
