Translation Prizes 2020: Winner Announcements

Join us as we celebrate this year’s 2020 Translation Prizes winners with a series of short online videos. The announcements and will be streamed live from our homepage.
We’re taking this year’s Translation Prizes online with six short films celebrating each prize from 10am to 1pm. With a total prize fund worth £13,000, the online ceremony will showcase the winning translators and editors, with translations into English from Italian, Spanish, German, French, Turkish, Hungarian and Arabic.
The announcements will be made in the following order:
- 10:00 – Main announcement
- 10:30 – The John Florio Prize
- 11:00 – The Premio Valle Inclán Prize
- 11:30 – The Saif Ghobash Banipal Prize
- 12:00 – The Schlegel-Tiek Prize
- 12:30 – The Scott Moncrieff Prize
- 13:00 – The TA First Translation Prize

The Authors’ Licensing and Collecting Society (ALCS) is a not-for-profit organisation started by writers for the benefit of all types of writers. Owned by its members, ALCS collects money due for secondary uses of writers’ work. It is designed to support authors and their creativity, ensure they receive fair payment and see their rights are respected.
