Warwickshire Group: Meet Warwick Books
2 February @ 19:00 - 20:15 GMT
In lieu of face-to-face meetings, our network of local groups are hosting online meet-ups for members to catch up and stay in touch.
Join the Warwickshire Group on Tuesday 2 February from 7pm for a Q&A with Warwick Books.
Mog and Pauline from Warwick Books will be talking about the challenges independent booksellers have faced during this past year, the steps that they have taken to keep their business going, what the future might hold and what book buyers can do to help their local independent bookshop.
Mog and Pauline Harris are proud owners of award-winning Warwick Books, the town’s only independent bookshop. Both are avid readers with a passion for books and community. Since taking over the shop in 2015, they have won numerous awards, established a popular events calendar attracting some well-respected literary names to the town and contributed to some important community events. They enjoy supporting authors at all stages of their careers, and have established some treasured relationships with local authors. Highlights of their half a decade in the book trade include intimate events in the shop with new authors, attending Michael Bond’s memorial, engaging young people in reading with schools, meeting Judith Kerr who created Mog’s name sake literary cat, and the day Mog almost failed to recognise the nation’s most famous author…
