Birds in our Gardens and Landscapes – A Seasonal Selection of Poetry and Prose
A Zoom talk by Writers in Oxford member Jaqueline Mitchell. Over the past two years, during lockdown, birds became for many of us a much more noticed part of our natural landscape, and an integral part of our lives. Jaqueline is compiler of Birds: An Anthology (Bodleian Library, 2020), and will take us through the literature of birds in our gardens and landscapes, from season to season, and from Roman times to the present day.

Thursday 9 December, 7.30pm
Year-End Zoom
Rather than a get-together or Christmas lunch, we’re playing it safe with this online celebration of finishing a difficult year! Come with your responses to 3 questions:

  • Your best rediscovery after lockdown
  • Your best writing this year
  • Your best reading this year

It should be lots of fun, and no need to stir from your sofa! Register in advance for this meeting here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
