Alessio joined the SoA in October 2021 on a Kickstart placement. He currently works within the Membership team fielding phone and emails enquiries.

Mathilde joined the SoA in 2022. She fields calls and emails that come into the office. She is part of the Membership Services team.
Lilly joined the SoA in May 2021. She works within the Events and Local Groups departments and is the Group Coordinator of the Authors with Disabilities and Chronic Illnesses Network.
Johanna joined the SoA in October 2021 and advises members on publishing contracts and issues. She works closely on the SoA’s outreach programme and is a co-host of The SoA Advisory Clinic podcast. Johanna is the coordinator for the SoA’s Poetry and Spoken Word Group.
Theo advises members on publishing contracts and issues. He is a coordinator of the Scriptwriters Group.
Teddy works on SoA communications and outreach and alongside the Policy department on the SoA’s campaigns work. He is also co-coordinator of the Children’s Writers and Illustrators Group. [email protected]
Sophia curates and delivers the SoA events programme. She supports our team of community coordinators and is a coordinator herself, for the Scriptwriters Group. She is also co-chair of the SoA’s Staff Inclusivity Network. In 2021 Sophia was named a Rising Star by The Bookseller.
Francesca leads on our community development and outreach programmes, which aim to engage and empower authors, poets, screenwriters, translators and illustrators, at all stages of their careers, throughout the UK.
Manages special projects for the SoA including the recent property move, Management Committee elections. Group Coordinator for the Translators Association and advises on translation contracts.
Leads the advisory team and advises members on publishing contracts and issues. Sarah also handles our literary estates, including professional stage licences.
Katharine joined the SoA in 2019. She is responsible for all financial reporting of the organisation and she manages the finances of 20 funds. She is also responsible for overseeing the annual audits, tax, payroll, compliance and dealing with all financial requests.
Anna joined the SoA in 2005. She leads on the SoA’s HR, feeds into organisational strategy, governance, works with the SoA’s Management Committee and Council. She is the coordinator for the Society of Authors in Scotland and the SoA’s Carers’ Network.
