Sophia curates and delivers the SoA events programme. She supports our team of community coordinators and is a coordinator herself, for the Scriptwriters Group. She is also co-chair of the SoA’s Staff Inclusivity Network. In 2021 Sophia was named a Rising Star by The Bookseller.

Robyn manages the SoA’s list of Prizes and Awards including the translation prizes, grants for works in progress and awards. She is co-chair of the SoA’s Staff Inclusivity Network. In 2019 Robyn was named a Rising Star by The Bookseller. She is currently reading Under My Thumb: Songs That Hate Women and the Women Who Love Them edited by Rhian Jones and Eli Davies.

Francesca Howell

Francesca leads on our community development and outreach programmes, which aim to engage and empower authors, poets, screenwriters, translators and illustrators, at all stages of their careers, throughout the UK.

Peter Kennedy

Peter Kennedy joined the SoA in December 2019 as our Head of Member Services. He is responsible for the Membership Services team and is currently project-managing our the development of our new CRM.

Martin Reed

Martin Reed

Martin leads our public and member-facing activities. He oversees the SoA’s strategic communications and campaign-based activities, including publications, website, PR and social media.

Katharine King

Katharine King

Katharine joined the SoA in 2019. She is responsible for all financial reporting of the organisation and she manages the finances of 20 funds. She is also responsible for overseeing the annual audits, tax, payroll, compliance and dealing with all financial requests.

Anna Ganley

Anna joined the SoA in 2005. She leads on the SoA’s HR, feeds into organisational strategy, governance, works with the SoA’s Management Committee and Council. She is the coordinator for the Society of Authors in Scotland and the SoA’s Carers’ Network.

Nicola’s role encompasses protecting authors’ interests in negotiations/disputes with publishers and agents, advising individual authors and campaigning for authors’ rights, as well as for the wider cultural environment.
